Tropical Rainforest
The Rain
The average tropical rainforest will receive about 80- 180 inches of rain per year. Since there is an abundance amount of rain in rain forests many of the plants grow exceptionally fast and use up the remains of dead and decomposing plants and animals for organic materials. The amount of rain that the rain forests receive creates a huge increase in flooding and many of the nutrients are washed away from the soil leaving the soil at a stat where it does not have much nutrients.
Sunlight
In the rainforest many plants and trees grow and create a tall canopy of leaves that does not let much sunlight through to reach the soil and the plants on he lower levels of the tropical rainforest. The leaves that create the canopy has to survive in a major amount of sunlight for about 12 hours a day for the whole year.
